Gaming and betting run on two clocks: regulated markets that demand traceability and control, and a product where players notice every second of delay. That combination makes the delivery flow part of the product. A release that takes a day is a day without improvements for millions of users.
At ATG we ran delivery engineering for some twenty development teams: a new CI platform on Drone/Harness and GitHub, an easy path for teams to move their projects to AWS, and key metrics exported to Prometheus and Grafana so incidents were caught before they reached developers. At Star Stable the job was to reduce complexity in web, payment flows and microservices: a first Jenkins towards continuous delivery, legacy services made testable, and a crash-analysis tool that clusters similar crashes into one bug so the studio fixes what hits the most players.
That is Delivery Engineering in practice, and Platform engineering when the platform under the teams is what sets the pace.
