Vi-skogen plants trees that safeguard food security, promote biodiversity and restore ecosystems. Through agroforestry — trees planted among crops — smallholder farmers in East Africa gain the tools to build sustainable and resilient farming.
Vi-skogen is a charity organisation whose projects are funded by public donations. The premise was clear: the solution had to fit the existing technology stack so it could be maintained long-term by internal resources.
I proposed and drove the Backend For Frontend concept — where microservices integrate with non-publicly-exposed CRM, business, CMS and payment systems, while the frontend is built as widgets that can be reused across multiple applications.
As DevOps I built the infrastructure on Amazon AWS with Continuous Delivery and put together tooling for local development environments — so the teams could iterate on microservices and frontend features seamlessly.
