A subsidiary within a global group delivers purchasing solutions, payment services and point-of-sale data solutions to around 250,000 small and medium-sized enterprises in Northern Europe. When the company set out to develop a new internal platform for sales and customer service, I stepped in as technical anchor, responsible for creating a stable technical foundation that would hold up over the long term.
I took a central role in the solution design and acted as technical support for the development team throughout the work. That meant, among other things, translating business needs into feasible technical solutions, identifying dependencies and risks, and making sure the architecture and integration patterns worked both for the initial delivery and for future development.
An important part of the assignment was ensuring the platform could be maintained, scaled and adapted over time. I therefore contributed technical guidelines, supported the team through complex decisions and created a clearer structure for how the solution would be developed and operated going forward.
I also built several integrations against existing business systems and customer portals. By connecting the systems we could automate information flows and processes that previously required extensive manual handling. The result was more efficient workflows, less manual effort and better conditions for both the sales and customer service teams to work faster and more consistently.
