Service businesses run on their customers, contracts and cases — and on the systems that keep track of them. CRM, case handling and financial systems have usually grown up separately, and the daily work happens in the seams between them. The technology that makes a difference is rarely a new system, but integrations and tools that turn the existing ones into a working instrument for case officers and salespeople.
Our assignments in the industry have been about exactly that: an interactive map feature with Leaflet.js at Viamare, where case workers see boats, moorings and ongoing insurance cases directly on the map instead of interpreting addresses; a frontend app at a music industry organisation that brings the organisation's own pricing engine into the SugarCRM invoicing flow, with Agresso as the receiver; and automated releases and a better test and development flow at Eniro during a pressured CRM rollout, so deliveries stopped depending on individuals.
What we offer service businesses today is Product development when an internal tool is to be built on top of existing systems, and DevOps when changes to CRM and business systems should reach production in a controlled way, and often.
