Komponent, which is owned by Danish municipalities, offers advisory services, analyses and skills development across the major welfare areas. In 2023 Type2dialog merged with Komponent and became part of a larger organisation with a shared focus on developing municipal welfare.
I was responsible for the migration project in which Type2dialog's existing environments were moved to a new hosting provider. The assignment covered planning and coordinating the migration, along with technical responsibility for moving the solutions with their functionality intact and with as little impact on the business as possible.
An important part of the work was building a clear picture of the existing environments, their dependencies and how the information was used in the business's daily work. The migration had to handle not only the transition itself to the new provider, but also ensure that systems, data and reporting flows kept working after the move.
In connection with the migration I also made minor but meaningful improvements to the information model. The information was structured more clearly to better reflect the business's needs and make it easier to use collected data in follow-up and reporting. The improvements were carried out within the scope of the migration project and thus added value beyond the change of hosting provider itself.
The result was a controlled transition to a new hosting environment and a more useful structure for the business's information. Type2dialog gained better conditions for continued maintenance, while reporting became clearer and more relevant as a basis for analysis, follow-up and future business development.
